Illicit Love is the story of a man, Park Si-Hoo, who used to be quite promiscuous during the early parts of his life. He used to have relations with countless women throughout his 20s and early 30s. Though Si-Hoo considered taking advantage, he put an end to it.
That was when his suspicions began. He began suspecting his wife of having an affair with her Swimming Instructor Lee Jung-Woo. Even though he had no real proof, he just knew in the back of his mind was something was up. The same day he goes out to have a drink with Mina. One thing led to another, and they ended up spending the night together.
This makes Si-Hoo even more guilty as his suspicions reveal themself to be nothing but baseless accusations. But did he stop seeing Mina after? No. Mina used the distrust Si-Hoo had for his wife in her favor. She was able to turn their one-time fling into a full-blown affair. Later it gets revealed that the suspicions Si-Hoo has about Jung-Woo are the truth.

CEO of the Company, Bong Man-Deuk, after seeing what happened on the rooftop, decides to confront his wife, Mi-Sook, about Jung-Woo. He asks to speak with his wife alone and tries to get more information, but as per their arrangement, they are not to ask about each other’s business, so Man-Deuk has no choice but to leave it at that.
After having suffered enough, Si-Hoo will go to Mina for the first time in a long time. However, it’s not for a reunion but for a farewell. He asks Mina to print up a resignation form for him. Later that day, he turns in his resignation to Mi-Sook, who tries to convince him to stay for just a bit longer. But Si-Hoo he insistent. That is when Jung-Woo comes in.
